Your eyes don’t deceive you, I did miss a post last week. I was too busy celebrating my birthday and being done with chemo and also just finally relaxing a little.
That said, I’m thinking of switching it up to a post every two weeks. The days I’d otherwise be having chemo. That gives me space to get back to normal a little here, and go out and Do the Things™ so I’ve got stuff to tell you about.
What I’ve been up to 👉
I had a lunch with aunt to commemorate being done with chemo. She was with me at my very first treatment while I was in the hospital and we wanted to celebrate the end together. We talked about how nervous she had felt for me that day during my first treatment, but didn’t show it at all. None of us knew how I’d feel or react, and she didn’t want me to be too afraid.
I also had a wonderful celebration dinner with Jesse, my mom, and my in-laws. we celebrated both the end of chemo and my birthday. I hadn’t seen either of them in a couple months, and it was so nice to get our hugs in. Our server and bar manager both had family affected by cancer so we really connected. The food was delicious and we all had a great time.
It was so nice to see some of my most loved ones to bring in 35 🥳

I had my follow-up PET scan last week. Again, the no-carbs no-sugar diet for a full 24 hours before was rough 😩. Your girl lives on carbs and sugar. And cheese. The scan itself was easy peasy and didn’t take very long.
Still no results, but a lot less anxiety about it this time. This time, I know what to expect timeline-wise in terms of when we’ll get them (about another week). Also, I’m trusting the mid-way results that looked really good and feeling optimistic about these looking even better.
In practice of gratitude and positivity, here are some things that made me happy since last time:
Birthday celebrations (including birthday treats 🤤 coffee cake, banana bread, amaretti cookies, yummm)
I got some very cute second-hand clothes from my teenage (!!) cousins (HUGE self-confidence boost on my 35th birthday 💅)
Jess and I got back into playing World of Warcraft
One of our cats Millie turned 11 (fellow virgo queen ♍) Here she is on her birthday 👇
